

Noura Erakat

Noura Erakat is Assistant Professor at New Century College at George Mason University and co-editor of Jadaliyya . She is a human rights attorney and activist with special research interest in the laws of self-defense in international law, armed conflict and human rights. Most recently, she served as Legal Counsel for the Domestic Policy Subcommittee of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee in the House of Representatives. Before coming to Capitol Hill, Ms. Eraka served as the national grassroots organizer and legal advocate for the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation.
Professor Erakat earned her J.D. and undergraduate degrees from the University of California at Berkley and a Master of Laws degree in National Security from Georgetown University Law Center. She also completed the Abraham L. Freedman Teaching Fellowship at the Beasley School of Law of Temple University.
